Data Storytelling

Consider: What are the highs, lows, opportunities for growth?  How do we refocus time and resources for opportunities for growth? Where do we want to be in the future and how do we get there? How do we know if the technology is enhancing instruction?

What would like teachers/admin like to be able to say within 90 seconds - this is our story?

1. What are the elements of an organization’s data story?
  • What do you notice when you look at the data?

  • Possible causes for these patterns/responses?

  • Strategies to implement or data to collect to address need?

  • Data/results/outcomes of implementation?

2. What could the process look like for crafting a data story?
  • What collaborative tool will you use?
  • What are team members' responsibilities?
  • What is the beginning, middle and end (or next steps) of your story?
