What is Fluency/Rate?

Fluency is the ability to read with accuracy, speed, and expression in order to demonstrate effortless reading.

What my class looks like:

Universal Screening data indicates that less than 60% of the class is proficient in the following subtests:

  • FAST: CBM-R

  • DIBELS:  DIBELS Oral Reading Fluency (DORF)

  • AIMsWEB: R-CBM

General Outcome Indicator

(How do you know it’s working?)
  • Implement a classwide intervention for a recommended 10-14 days.

  • Reassess/progress monitor students to make a determination if changes are needed.

  • Questions to consider: Were you consistent with implementing this classwide intervention?  Did your class as a whole make progress on this skill?
