What is Phonics/Decoding?
Phonics is the ability to recognize the relationship between sounds and symbols (letters) in order to fluently read and subsequently comprehend text.
Target when Universal Screening data indicates that ≤60% of the class is proficient in the following subtests:

FAST: Nonsense Words, Letter Sounds, CBM-R Accuracy

AIMsWEB: Nonsense Word, Letter Sound, R-CBM Accuracy

DIBELS: Nonsense Word Fluency (NWF), DIBELS Oral Reading Fluency Accuracy(DORF)
