Project Runway - New Hampton High School

The 2018 year began with the launch of McElroy grant projects. New Hampton High School students are working through J-Term projects from now until January 17th. Of them is Project Runway, a fashion design option featuring new designs as well as upcycled thrift outfits. We will keep checking in to see the final products!

Grant project description

High school students will design, create, and sew outfits to be worn during a fashion show they will organize. Community members will serve as sewing instructors and design consultants. The fashion show will include music, announcers, make-up artists, and clothing models along with student photographers. Through their work on this project, students will learn garment construction, marketing, persuasive writing, make-up artistry, staging/lighting, speaking skills, problem solving, among other skills.
